Hi my name is SHARON of Sharwood Poodles, and  I am  located in Florida where I breed quality, healthy, AKC red, apricot and black poodles (specializing in red).  My poodles average weight is 8-12 lbs. and up to 13" in height.  My numbers are small so that I can give each dog the care and love they need and want all the time.  My dogs have pedigrees with many outstanding CHAMPION representatives of the breed. While I enjoy showing my poodles, I prefer they go to homes where they will be a loved, spoiled pet.   I am very particular where my babies are placed, and I have no problem refusing to place a puppy in a questionable environment.

 

PUPPIES

 

I do not have a kennel. My dogs/puppies are "family members" and receive lots of loving and attention.  I wouldn't have it any other way. I can't begin to tell you how much joy my poodles give me.  They know when I am sad, sick, having a good day  or a bad day!  Therefore, their moods adjust to my feelings.  They will lay quietly by my side when I am sick, and just their presence is a comfort. All of the puppies I sell as pets are sold on a spay/neuter contract, which means the AKC papers will be for Limited Registration.   I strive to breed a healthy, sweet tempered, outgoing,  gorgeous looking puppy. My puppies are known for all of the above qualities based on comments from my happy puppy owners, VET comments, and recommendations of people to me as a very conscientious breeder.  I put my heart and soul into my puppies, so that you can be proud of your "bundle of joy".  Each puppy leaves my home well-groomed, has a thorough vet health exam, 1st set of shots, worming, patella examination, and a Fl. Certificate of Health.  I know that I am placing as healthy a puppy as possible.  Because it is a requirement that the puppy be taken to the VET within 72 hours, I always receive an update telling me the puppy had an excellent checkup, and that their VET commends me on the quality and health of the puppy.  In fact, I have gotten referrals from the VET's when someone is looking for a poodle, and what better reference can you ask for.

 

PARENTS

 

Parents are the most important part of breeding healthy, good looking, and sweet tempered poodles.  My feeling is "Pet Quality" is the highest calling a poodle can have.  What does this mean exactly?  It means being a pet is the most important thing a Poodle will ever do. Whether it be friend of children, adults, seniors with walkers, and handicapped people. If it is possible, meeting the mother and the father of your puppy-to-be is  important for she/he  not only contributes 50% genetically, she raises the babies, so her influence is HUGE!  If you are not allowed to see the mother than something is very wrong.  All my dogs are available to visit with you, and they will enjoy every minute.  You get to play ball, and get kissed all over from my dogs.  There is not a shy bone in their bodies. 

 

TESTING

 

I personally consider testing a vital part of my breeding program. Some health issues can be genetic, and testing gives me "some peace of mind" knowing that I am selling you as healthy a puppy as I can at the time of sale.  However, there is no guarantee that unforeseen health issues won't "crop up". Fortunately my dogs tested"normal/clear-A's" for prcd-PRA which causes blindness, CERF'D normal (for other eye issues), and have certified normal tight patellas.

 

SHIPPING

 

While I prefer not shipping my babies, there are instances when it is necessary.  I try to use only Continental Airlines as you can usually ship in any kind of weather.  Shipping costs are approximately $300-$350 which includes the flight, airline crate, flying health certificate, and a small charge for tolls, parking and gas. HOWEVER, I WILL NOT SHIP IN THE SUMMER!  My puppy owners are such great people because they will fly to Florida to pick up their baby and take it home on the plane with them.  I meet them at the West Palm Beach Airport, and they can then book a return flight on the same day.  It means so much to know that my puppy owners think that much of my/their babies!

 

NO MATTER WHO YOU GET YOUR POODLE FROM, REMEMBER, (1) MEET MOM, (2), ASK TO SEE THE TESTING RESULTS ON THE PARENTS, AND (3) BE PATIENT!  AS THE BEST PUPPY IN THE WORLD IS WORTH WAITING FOR.
